KARACHI: President of Jamaat-e-Islami, Karachi Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman has asserted that the people of Karachi were suffering from severe loadshedding and termed it a ‘gift’ from the government for the victims.
Addressing a press conference in Karachi today (Friday), Hafiz Naeem said that despite declaring Karachi an ‘affected area,’ and opposing NEPRA, electricity prices were increased in the city.
“The city runs the entire country, yet it is mistreated. A fake census has been conducted in Karachi. The census should be repeated,” he demanded, adding that a grand Karachi Rights March would be held on September 27 on Shahra-e-Qaedin. He also said that the September 27 march will bury linguistic politicians.
Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman further said in the past Jamaat-e-Islami had solved the problems of Karachi and currently, JI will resolve the problems. “It will be a historic march for the rights of Karachi by those who serve Karachi,” he added.
“The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) had twice sold K-Electric and handed it over to a mafia,” he claimed, adding that the federal government was also supporting KE by increasing the price of electricity.
