ISLAMABAD: A deprived woman, along with his daughter, is selling food on busy streets of the federal capital to feed her family.
“I’m the sole breadwinner of the family, as my husband left us three years ago,” the deprived woman named Saba Noorain said while talking to M.M News.
The deprived woman rented a fruit cart and decided to sell fruits in the F-11 sector of Islamabad. She goes to the fruit market daily and buys bananas and then sells them in the streets of Islamabad.
About her daily route, the woman said, “I leave for mandi at 7 am and buy bananas for the day. I hardly earn Rs 900 to 1,000 daily, which isn’t enough for my family. I begin selling fruits from the Blue Area and go all the way to F10 Markaz.”
She also claimed that the district police in Islamabad’s Blue area had abused and harassed her several times. “When I started selling fruits, a lot of people, including my family, told me I could face problems on the way, passengers could harass me,” she added.
“However, I told them God will help me. I had to become a man myself. Even when my husband left, I had to become both father and mother for my kid,” she added.
She also said, “I’ve told a lot of women around me not to give up, and keep their spirits high. I want to tell women to earn for themselves, for their children.”
