KARACHI: The Sindh local government has constituted committees for the recovery of vehicles from the former elected representatives and officials of local government across Sindh.
According to details, former elected representatives and officials of local government have not returned their allotted government vehicles despite their services ended.
In this regard, the Sindh government has taken the notice and constituted committees at each divisional level, which will be responsible to achieve the given targets within seven days and submit a report to the Local Government Department.
The notification stated that the committees will be responsible to recover vehicles from the former elected representatives and officials. “Initiate proceedings through the magistrate, in the case where the vehicle has not been returned or dilly-dallying is being restored to,” it added.
The Sindh local government formed committees in Karachi, Hyderabad, Mirpur Khas, Shaheed Benazirabad, Sukkur, and Larkana. According to the notification, Ishaq Khorro (Regional Director Local Government) will head the constituted committee of Karachi.
All committees are directed to submit a report within seven days. It is worth mentioning here that the mayor of Hyderabad, Sukkur, and district chairmen have not returned the vehicles yet.
