ISLAMABAD: At least six more people have lost their lives due to coronavirus in Pakistan and the total number of deaths has reached 6,294.
According to the National Command and Operations Center, 213 new cases of the coronavirus have been reported across the country and the total number of infected people has reached 295,849.
So far, 280,682 coronavirus victims have recovered in Pakistan and the number of active cases has dropped to 8,873. According to the NCOC, 18,017 tests have been performed on the coronavirus in the last 24 hours. The total number of corona tests across the country is 2,621,146.
In hospitals across the country, 98 patients are on a ventilator. In Balochistan, Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, no patient is on a ventilator. According to the National Command and Operations Center, 1,088 patients are currently hospitalized.
The number of coronavirus cases in Sindh has reached 129,268. 96,741 cases were reported in Punjab, 36,017 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 12,842 in Balochistan, 15,611 in Islamabad, 2,274 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir and 2,863 in Gilgit-Baltistan.
The coronavirus has caused 2,196 deaths in Punjab and 2,398 in Sindh. The death toll from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is 1,250, Islamabad 175, Balochistan 141, Gilgit-Baltistan 67, and Azad Kashmir 61.
The first case of coronavirus in Pakistan was registered on 26th February and 1000 deaths occurred till 21st May. The pace of cases has slowed, but caution is still needed, according to the health ministry.
