The sacrifices rendered by the great Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) are not only recognized and respected by the Muslims but all over the world.
The month of Muharram is the first month of the Islamic calendar year. Every injustice and oppression reminds us of Karbala, the tragic incident took place on the tenth of Muharram.
Imam Hussain (RA) not only gave the world and humanity concept of justice in practical terms but the whole world accepts the fact that Hussain (RA) saved Islam from destruction by sacrificing his precious life.
The great scholars, writers, philosophers, and world leaders who said wonderful things about Imam Hussain (RA) include Dr. K. Sheldrake, Charles Dickens, Thomas Carlyle, Edward Gibbon, William Muir, Allama Mohammad Iqbal, Browne, and so on.
Mahatma Gandhi said: “If I had an army like the 72 soldiers of (Imam) Hussain, I would have won freedom for India in 24 hours.”

Washington Irving, American Author, said about Imam Hussain (AS), “It was possible for Hussain to save his life by submitting himself to the will of Yazid, but his responsibility as a reformer did not allow him to accept Yazid’s Caliphate. He, therefore, prepared to embrace all sorts of discomfort and inconvenience in order to deliver Islam from the hands of the Omayyads. “

Dr. Rajendra Prasad said: “The sacrifice of Imam Hussain is not limited to one country, or nation, but it is the hereditary state of the brotherhood of all mankind.”
