WASHINGTON: United States President Donald Trump has announced to use of potential treatment of COVID-19 using blood plasma.
Donald Trump has allowed the decision while addressing reporters at White House. He said that his administration has granted permission to use emergency blood plasma for treating COVID-19 patients, though more than 70,000 patients have already received it on an experimental basis.
He added that the treatment could reduce deaths by 35 percent. “This is what I’ve been looking forward to doing for a long time. I am pleased to make a truly historic announcement in our battle against the China virus that will save countless lives,” he said.

While terming it as a potential therapy to treat patients, Trump urged citizens to come forward and donate plasma if they have recovered from coronavirus.
The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has given emergency authorization for the use of blood plasma to cure people suffering from coronavirus.
The technique uses the transfer of antibody-rich blood plasma from people who have recovered from the disease to those who are still suffering from it.
The number of confirmed coronavirus cases worldwide topped 23 million, more than half of them from the United States, India, and Brazil.
