ISLAMABAD: Karachi company station officials are reportedly threatening the residents of J. Salik Colony for not paying extortion money.
The residents had appealed justice from the DIG operation over the created matter. Kashif Masih, a resident of J-Salik Colony in Islamabad’s G/8, while requesting for DIG operation, said that on 28th July, at around 6 pm, when he entered the colony, he was stopped by ASI Mukhtar Kasuri and his fellow Chief Constable Arshad.
He described that the officers had a new black Corolla car, “They started searching me and forcibly took Rs. 18000 from my pocket,” the victim maintained. Kashif Masih has the video as evidence which he claims to recover from a CCTV camera installed in J. Salik Colony.
He said that these two officers have made it a habit. They come in the same car and keep the locals’ belongings occasionally by harassing and intimidating them.
The residents of the neighborhood also staged a protest a few days ago which was also covered in the media as well but no action was taken against the officers. Both the officers claim that they bribe their upper management and no legal action can thus be taken against them. The uniformed officers are spread fear n the colony, as per the residents.
The residents have warned that if they did not get justice, they will be forced to protest. “We are very much compelled by this abuse and forced power of the officials and if they are not stopped, we will protest,” said the victim.
