KARACHI: Jamil Farooqi has been removed from the post of Senior Director of Human Resource Management (HRM), Karachi Metropolitan Municipality (KMC).
According to details, Mazhar Khan, an officer of BS-19, has replaced former Senior Director HRM Jamil Farooqi. The Metropolitan Commissioner Secretariat has also issued a notification, No. Secy/MC/KMC/2020/057, in this regard.
Jamil Farooqi is also accused of having dual nationality and is allegedly involved in various corruption scandals and nepotism in Human Resources Management. A local court has also issued a contempt of court notice for illegally appointing a junior officer as chief officer in the fire department.
Following the court notice, he had removed the junior officer and issued an order for the appointment of a senior for the ‘Chief Fire Officer’ post. However, after the retirement of the senior officer, he again appointed the same junior officer on that post.
Sources further claimed that Jamil Farooqi continued to appoint juniors to higher positions by issuing illegal orders for his own purposes.
