RAWALPINDI: At least eight protesters were wounded during a demonstration outside the press club against Blue World Housing Society in Rawalpindi over non-allotment of plots.
According to details, the younger brother of Blue World Housing Society owner Chaudhry Nadeem Ijaz allegedly attacked the protestors along with his thugs. As a result, almost 8 people were severely wounded.
Relevant sources informed that Chaudhry Nadeem Ijaz is constructing a residential society illegally with the alleged patronage of several politicians. He had also applied for NOC for constructing the society, however, the NOC has not issued yet.
The owner of Blue World City also met the Commissioner Rawalpindi with the aim of obtaining NOC illegally but the request was also rejected. However, planning permission was issued.
Later, the planning permission was also revoked for persistent violation of Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) rules. An action was also taken against the owner. Sources informed that the RDA officials took bribe in this regard and suppress the matter.
On the other hand, when the video of the attack on the protestors went viral on social media, CPO Rawalpindi and DIG Ahsan Younis immediately issued orders for legal action against the attackers. Cases were also registered against the attackers with City Police Station under serious provisions.
