KARACHI: After increasing pressure from the Supreme Court of Pakistan, Commissioner Karachi today (Tuesday) visited the Gutter Baghicha, and had a detailed discussion with the concerned officers.
According to details, Commissioner Karachi directed the concerned authorities to immediately implement the orders of the Supreme Court. He further informed that no housing scheme would be constructed here and no bus stand would be built.
“The concerned officers should follow the orders of the Supreme Court and take steps to build a park in place of Gutter Baghicha,” he added. Officials of District Administration West and Karachi Metropolitan Municipality were present at the occasion. Additional Deputy Commissioner West Hisham Mazhar Qureshi and Senior Director Encroachment Bashir Siddiqui were also present.
Despite the Supreme Court of Pakistan, the process of constructing a park on the Gutter Baghicha has not started yet. Commissioner Karachi and Anti-Encroachment Department have failed to end the illegal occupation of several acres of Gutter Baghicha.
According to details, several land mafia had illegally occupied the land near Gutter Baghicha under the political patronage.
