KARACHI: Funeral prayers of Former Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) emir Syed Munawar Hasan were offered at Eidgah ground in Karachi’s Nazimabad area on Saturday.
As per details, Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Ameer Senator Sirajul Haq led the funeral prayers. The funeral prayers were attended by a large number of people belonging to various walks of life including politicians.
While addressing the funeral participants, Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Senator Siraj-ul-Haq said Munawar Hasan stood for justice, for freedom, for equal rights, for the rule of people, for an open society and for a noble Pakistan.
With his unusual powers of persuasion, luminous exposition, searching arguments, and sound judgment, he was able to win the hearts of people, he added.
He further said, “Hassan’s slogan was that the Islamic system should be implemented in Pakistan and this was his mission and goal for the Islamic environment in the country and we will continue the struggle for this goal.”
Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman while addressing the gathering said that today “We all testify before Allah that Hasan was a pious person, adding that his party will continue the struggle to achieve Hassan’s mission.
Former ameer of the Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Syed Munawar Hasan breathed his last on Friday at a Karachi hospital. He had been undergoing treatment at the hospital for the past few weeks and was recently put on the ventilator after his health condition worsened. He died at the age of 78.
