KARACHI: Actor Yasir Nawaz and his wife Nida Yasir have donated their plasma for the treatment of the critical patients of the COVID-19 after the couple was recuperated from the disease.
According to the Dow University of Health Sciences, the couple arrived at the facility on Saturday after recovering from the coronavirus disease.
The official Twitter account of the hospital also carried a brief statement of Yasir in which the actor said: “Your plasma can save two more [lives], if you have recovered from COVID-19, please donate your plasma and be a lifesaver.”

Yasir posted a video on his Instagram account and wrote: “I am making this video to appeal to those people who are familiar with me or give even the slightest weight to my words, to donate their plasma,” he said.

Actors and TV celebrities Nida Yasir and Yasir Nawaz had requested fans for prayers after the couple tested positive for the novel coronavirus on May 24.
Renowned morning show host Nida Yasir took to Instagram and confirmed that she, her husband Yasir Nawaz and daughter, have tested positive for coronavirus and are currently in isolation.
Nida shared a photo of herself with daughter and husband and wrote, “Quarantine partners.” Nida had also extended Eid greetings to the fans and friends, saying “EID MUBARAK.”
Updating on their health, Nida wrote that “They are fine but have tested positive and are currently in isolation. She went on to say her sons have tested negative but requested prayers for the family”.
