KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has said that 30 more people have died due to the deadly coronavirus in 24 hours, taking the provincial death toll to 916.
Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah said on Wednesday that 2,115 new cases have been reported in Sindh taking the tally to more than 59,000. Meanwhile, the total number of coronavirus cases in the country has reached 157,381.
So far, 3029 deaths have been reported while 58,437 patients have recovered from the disease. The highest number of patients surfaced in Sindh with 59,983 cases followed by Punjab with 58,239 virus infections.
The chief minister urged the citizens to follow SOPS and avoid going out of their home without any solid reason. The number of infections from the novel coronavirus has surpassed the grim landmark of 150,000 cases in the country.
The country recorded 5,839 new coronavirus cases over the last twenty-four hours, taking the total tally to 154,760. This includes 58,239 cases in Punjab. There are 19,107 cases in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 8,437 in Balochistan, 9,242 in Islamabad, 1,164 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 703 in Azad Kashmir.
The death toll from the virus stands at 2,975 with 136 deaths reported over the last twenty-four hours. This is the highest single-day spike in the death toll from the coronavirus. The total death toll from the virus stands at 2,975.
