KARACHI: Almost 10 employees of Sindh Secretariat along with three deputy secretaries have tested positive for the novel coronavirus today (Sunday), authorities confirmed.
According to details, three deputy secretaries including Deputy Secretary Services Adeel and seven others have tested positive for coronavirus. On the other hand, Deputy Secretary Education Khalid Haider had tested positive for the coronavirus and is currently observing quarantined isolation.
Secretary works and services Imran Atta Soomro also tested positive for COVID-19, meanwhile, secretary local bodies Roshan Sheikh has been observing self-isolation for the past 14 days.
Earlier today (Sunday), Sindh reported 2,287 new coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours after 11,197 tests conducted in the province. The total number of infections across the province has reached to 53,805.
Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah in a media briefing informed that 15 more patients of coronavirus died in the past 24 hours across the province increasing death toll from COVID-19 to 831.
The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Pakistan has jumped to 139,230 after the detection of record 6,825 new infections in the past 24 hours.
According to the latest data released by the National Command and Operation Center, the death toll from COVID-19 in the country has reached 2,632 with 81 more virus-related deaths reported in the past 24 hours.
