KARACHI: Association of Builders and Developers of Pakistan (ABAD) has penned down a letter to Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah regarding a dispute over 80 acres of land in Gulshan-e-Maymar.
According to the letter, the builders association has requested an inquiry against the corrupt revenue officials of District West Karachi.
The ABAD in its letter has appealed to Governor Sindh and CM Sindh to protect the Prime Minister’s construction industry relief package.
The letter said, “ABAD is putting its maximum efforts for the betterment of the national economy,” adding, “However, some elements are sabotaging our efforts.”
The builder association has claimed that Safari Associates, member of the ABAD, was being harassed by Deputy Commissioner West Fayyaz Solangi, Assistant Commissioner Manghopir Sajjad Abro, and another official to facilitate land grabbers.
“Land Grabbers, Alam Behari, and others have encroached 20 acres land of Safari Associates, namely Timber Market, with the patronage of these corrupt revenue officials,” the letter added.
The letter further said, “However, the said project is already approved by the Malir Development Authority and sold to the general public.”
Earlier, the builders association has expressed serious concerns over attempts to encroach upon an 80-acre land owned by a builder in Karachi’s Taiser Town.
ABAD Senior Vice-Chairman Sohail Warind had previously written a letter to the Sindh Anti-Corruption Establishment and Enquiries chairman, requesting an inquiry against corrupt revenue officials in Karachi’s District West.
