KARACHI: After the suspension of KMC officer Jameel Farooqi, the Sindh government has halted the recruitment in the district local bodies for favouritism.
According to details, the Local Government of Sindh had given permission to local bodies other than Karachi for recruitment from grades one to four. Due to this, recruitment issues in Karachi’s local bodies remained unresolved.
Sources informed that the Sindh government allegedly trying to recruit its choice, especially its party workers in order to give them rewards.
Sources further informed that before the next local body elections, most of the officials and employees of the Sindh government will be seen in the local bodies of Karachi.
Earlier on June 3, Senior Director of Human Resource Management (HRM), Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC), Jameel Ahmed Farooqui had been suspended in the wake of the inquiry initiated on illegalities in recruitments.
According to the notification, Jameel Ahmed Farooqui had been directed to immediately report to the Local Government and Housing Town Planning Department. Orders have also been issued for a transparent inquiry into the matter.
