RAWALPINDI: Citizens of Rawalpindi caught a suspected criminal involved in a robbery and handed him over to police after beating him.
According to details, the detained robber has been identified as a resident of Afghanistan and is also involved in several robberies. Police recovered eight mobile phones, a motorcycle, and 32 bore pistols from his possession.
Police also detained Samiullah, a citizen who caught the robber and tried their best to implicate him in the incident, however, he was spared due to the intervention of citizens and media.
Residents have informed that the police have taken a very lenient attitude towards the robber and the police have made every possible effort to name the person who caught the robber in the case and declare the citizen as an accomplice.
The residents further said that the incidents of robbery, street crimes, rape, kidnapping for ransom have increased immensely in Rawalpindi. The residents have appealed to Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Bazdar and IG Punjab to take notice of the increasing crime rate in the city.
