ISLAMABAD: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Shibli Faraz has said protection of vulnerable segments of the society topmost priority of PTI government despite limited resources.
Talking to the media after offering Eidul Fitr prayers in Islamabad, the minister said the incumbent government is taking concrete measures to facilitate the marginalized segments of the society in the wake of COVID -19 epidemic.
Replaying to a question by reports about PIA plane crash, the minister said Prime Minister Imran Khan is also in contact with the Sindh government and the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and giving necessary directions in this regard.
He further said that the government’s first priority was to hand over the bodies of the victims to their families after identification. He expressed grief over the terrible incident and offered condolences to the families of those who died.
Faraz said an information desk has been established to contact with families of the passengers on board the fateful plane and provide the required information.
“All facts will come to light after the inquiry report. “A transparent inquiry will be conducted and true information will be given to heirs of the victims,” he mentioned.
Faraz said PM Imran Khan ordered authorities to ease the lockdown only to facilitate the downtrodden people of the country. It is now the responsibility of the people to observe all protective steps to stay safe.
He urged people to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) properly to limit the spread of the COVID-19.
