NEW YORK: Months after the release of “Bad Boys for Life”, Producer Jerry Bruckheimer has confirmed that ‘Bad Boys 4’ script was currently in the works.
Although it took 17 years to happen, a third Bad Boys movie finally hit theaters back in January. The Bad Boy franchise features Will Smith and Martin Lawrence as Miami detectives “Mike Lowry” and “Marcus Burnett”.
It also earned $419 million at the box office on a $90 million budget and is currently the highest-grossing movie of 2020 after the coronavirus pandemic forced theaters to close their doors in mid-March.
Speaking to an international magazine, Producer Bruckheimer said, “We’re currently working on a draft for the fourth Bad Boys.”
Bruckheimer didn’t mention who was working on the script during his interview, but it was previously reported ‘Bad Boys for Life’ screenwriter Chris Bremner is handling the task.
He further said, “We had a great experience on the first one, both through the development process with Tom Rothman, chairman of Sony, and his team and then through the editing process and filming process.”
“We put together, along with their help, a movie that’s very satisfying for the audience, and we’d like to do it again, and I think they’d like us to do it again,” he added.
Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, studios have been hesitant to add new movies to the release calendar.
