PESHAWAR: In an order to contain the outbreak of the novel COVID-19, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has made face masks mandatory before going out.
The KP government issued a notification today in this regard. The notification stated all the activities permitted will take place under certain guidelines in pursuance of the directives issued by the KP government.
The notification further said face masks are mandatory for all the citizens coming out of their houses, adding that the face masks shall cover the nose, mouth, and chin.
It further stated that sanitising and cleaning hands would be strictly ensured after every activity.“Every employee or worker has to be examined before entering the workplace,” it added.
The notification also stated that the workplaces were supposed to be disinfected frequently. Social distancing will be ensured at every workplace, it added.
Meanwhile, KP Finance and Health Minister Taimur Jhagra addressing a press conference said that the government has made it mandatory for people to wear masks in public places.
He further said that it wasn’t necessary for people to wear surgical masks, adding that people could wear an old shirt or a piece of cloth to protect others from getting infected from them.
The confirmed cases of coronavirus in Pakistan have surged past 11,500 as new cases were reported in several areas of the country.
According to the national dashboard, almost 414 cases were reported across the country. However, the national death toll reached 244.
Ever since the coronavirus emerged from the wet markets in Wuhan, China, the disease has killed more than 180,000 around the globe and infected more than 2.8 million.
