ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister of Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry has said that Pakistan’s engineering institutes have so far made 150 malfunctioned ventilators functional.
Taking to Twitter, Fawad Chaudhry wrote, “Pakistan’s engineering institutes have so far made 150 malfunctioned ventilators functional. If any private hospital’s ventilator is not functional, we will provide one for free only on the condition if they do not charge a coronavirus patient for services.”

According to the federal minister, the ventilators will be fixed for free if private hospitals do not charge coronavirus patients. The issue with several public hospitals is that they have ventilators but lack people to operate them, he added.
“We have made teams in Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad, Quetta, and Peshawar who will provide free training on operating ventilators to hospital staff, he further said.
Earlier, Fawad Chaudhry said that the COVID-19 pandemic had no nationality and religion. The coronavirus was the common enemy of all human beings he asserted by adding, “Everyone has to battle the coronavirus together.”
