ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister of Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry has assured that the PTI-led federal government was trying to tackle the economic issues during coronavirus pandemic.
In a statement issued today (Saturday), Fawad Chaudhry has informed that more than 16 million people applied for cash assistance but only 4 million people were selected as others were unable to fulfill the criteria, adding that the schemes were purely for the deserving people.
Fawad Chaudhry further said that the programmes initiated by the PTI government have no political influence, liking and disliking, adding that the payment would be made to poor families through a transparent mechanism.
He also appreciated the massive package for the construction industry announced by Prime Minister Imran Khan and said that this initiative would also create job opportunities.
The federal minister further said that reactivation of construction industries would boost other industries, including sentries, tiles, paint and others relying on this industry.
Fawad Chaudhry said that the initiative taken by the federal government would be a great relief for people in current challenging times.
Referring to testing kits, he said that Pakistan has now started indigenous manufacturing of testing kits and sanitizers at a very low cost that would be provided throughout the country.
