Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Raja Farooq Haider has announced Nishan-e-Kashmir for Dr. Usama Riaz of Gilgit Baltistan for carrying out his duty and sacrificing his life to tackle coronavirus.
In a meeting regarding coronavirus, Raja Farooq Haider said that Dr. Usama has set an ever-lasting example of bravery and courage.
Raja Farooq Haider further said that he was the pride of not just his community and country but also of entire humanity. The meeting also paid tribute to the medical workers.
The AJK Prime Minister also said that the medical staffs were the frontline soldiers of Pakistan against coronavirus and we were beholden to them in this regard.’
The Prime Minister also announced bonus – equal to one-month basic pay – for the medical staffs across AJK from grade one to 20 for their fight against coronavirus.
Raja Farooq Haider also vowed that the government would ensure their protection and equip them with personal protective gear.
He also directed the concerned authorities to take strict action against hoarders and profiteers through effective measures to curb hoarding and profiteering across the state.
