Chinese experts have claimed that the coronavirus outbreak could end in June globally if all impacted countries take the virus seriously and implement strong national-level measures to control it.
A Chinese expert – Zhong Nanshan – who is head of top-level panel of scientists against coronavirus has said that many countries in the world are still not taking the virus seriously.
He claimed, “In general, this virus is less active in summer when temperature is relatively high,” adding that but the end of the pandemic depends heavily on how seriously every country focuses on it.
Commenting on World Health Organization move to declare coronavirus a pandemic, he said, “That’s the highest level of warning, meaning every country can take approaches suitable for themselves to fight the virus.”
He concluded that considering the strong infectiousness of novel coronavirus, national-level interventions were needed to contain it.
The outbreak of coronavirus has claimed more than 4,500 lives across the world and has spread in almost 100 countries.
