CHITRAL: Forest department of Chitral under Chilgoza Project distributed free plants among people and Kalash community at Bubmorat valley.
A simple and impressive event was held at Forest rest house Bumborat. Provincial coordinator of the Food And Agriculture Organization Chilghoza Project, Ajaz Ahmad was the chief guest on the occasion.
During the event, Forest Department’s officials distributed free plants among local people for improving Local livelihoods through the increased productivity and enhanced services and functions of the Chilgoza ecosystem in Chitral.
The provincial coordinator Ajaz Ahmad said that the purpose of the free distribution plants campaign to improve Local livelihoods through the growing productivity and better services and functions of the Chilgoza ecosystem in the selected valleys.
He said the Chilghoza Forest Protection & Conservation committees formed in the valley are playing a vital role in facilitating the local people in planting trees, he added.
On the occasion, Muhammad Ayub and Environmentalist belongs to Kalash Valley Bumburate said that plantation campaign is an opportunity to strengthen our link with nature and planting is vital for our socio-economic development and a sustainable ecosystem.
Under the Chilghoza Project, FAO and KP Forest Department distributed 150,000 Nos saplings of forest plants among the local communities of Kalash Valley Bumburate, Birir and Shishikoh Valley of Chitral Pakistan.
