Saudi Arabia has announced its first case of novel coronavuris, the Saudi health ministry said.
The KSA health ministry took to Twitter and announced the first case of COVID-19 and said that the patient was a Saudi national returning from Iran through Bahrain.
The ministry said that the individual had not disclosed his visit to Iran when entering Saudi Arabia, adding that the patient has been isolated in a hospital.
Samples were taken from those in contact with the person, and results were expected soon, the health ministry said.
Saudi Arabia is the last Arab country in Gulf to report case of the deadly disease. Meanwhile, Jordan and Tunisia also confirmed their first cases also.
Earlier this week, Saudi government has suspended foreigners’ entry for Umrah and tourism from the countries where coronavirus has spread.
The novel coronavirus has claimed lives of more than 3000 people globally, and almost 89,000 people across 58 countries have been diagnosed.
