KARACHI: Another news polio case emerged in Sindh province on Saturday, raising the sum of cases in the current year to 20.
The officials of the polio emergency operation center Sindh said the case was confirmed in a two-year-old minor. This is a seventh confirmed case in Sindh province this year.
Earlier, a polio case reported from the Dera Ghazi Khan area of the Punjab province. Punjab anti-polio program officials report disclosed, the case was confirmed in the eight-month-old child in union council Taunsa.
In the wake of the emergence of the polio case, the authorities has announced to launch a five-day anti-polio drive in DG Khan from March 16.

On 9 February, four cases from Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa reported respectively, reaching the tally to 12 for the current year 2020.
An official of the National Institute of Health (NIH) said the cases of Sindh were reported from Badin and Kambar, whereas both cases of KP were registered from the Lakki Marwat district.
