England comfortably defeated Pakistan by 42 runs in Women’s T20 world cup today (Friday) at Manuka Oval Stadium Australia.
Pakistan was bowled out at 116 in chasing the target of 159. Anya Shrubsole and Sarah Glenn took 3 wickets apiece.
Katherine Brunt and Sophie Ecclestone shared 2, 2 wickets.
Seven Pakistani women players could not reach the double figures, whereas both the openers Muneeba Ali and Javeria Khan scored 10 runs and 16 runs respectively.
However, Aliya Riaz did his best to accelerate the runs of Pakistan but it was in vain; Pakistan lost by 42 runs.
‘1st innings’
England captain played the much-needed innings and scored 62 runs in 47 balls. Natalie Sciver scored 36 runs in 29 balls.
Aiman Anwar took 3 wickets, whereas Nida Dar was the expensive bowler of Pakistan side as she gave 43 runs and took 2 wickets.
Earlier, Pakistan has beaten West Indies in their first fixture of the world tournament.
