KARACHI: Sindh High Court (SHC) while issuing notice to Federal and provincial governments on the deaths caused due to toxic gas in Karachi’s Kemari has sought reply from the respondents till March 11.
The petitioner filed a plea in Sindh High Court that 14 people have died due to the discharge of toxic gas in Keemari while over 100 people have been affected.
The petitioner justified a lack of contacts between the minister for ports and shipping, Karachi Port Trust and provincial government remained on this incident.
The petition seeks transparent investigation into the incident should be conducted as well as bringing the responsible persons into justice.
In this regard, SHC issued notices to federal and provincial governments, Sindh Environmental Agency, chairman KPT and others for March 11.
