ISLAMABAD: Former premier Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has said that there was no check and balance over hiked prices of wheat and sugar.
While addressing a national assembly session, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi held the incumbent government responsible for the unstable economy.
Abbasi said that the incumbent government has been taking loans yet the economy was suffering. The facts and figures stated by the finance advisor were not in his information, he added.
“Nothing said by our Hafeez Shaikh is based on facts and figures,” he further added.
Earlier during the same NA session, Hafeez Shaikh also slammed the Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) during the National Assembly session.
While addressing the National Assembly, Dr. Abdul Hafeez Shaikh said that the PML-N party in its tenure spent Rs.23,00 billion. it was more party’s income at that time.

Hafeez Shaikh further said that the country was on the verge of default due to current account deficit and other economic indicators.
He added that the country’s foreign exchange savings saw a massive fall due to the wrong economic policies that were implemented by the PML-N.
Shaikh lamented when his party came into power, the country was facing a loan of Rs.30000 billion already.
