ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) on Monday warned that a rain‑bearing system is advancing toward the capital, with showers, gusty winds and thunderstorms expected in Islamabad and adjoining districts within the next one to three hours.

According to the advisory, areas including Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Abbottabad, Murree and Galiyat are also likely to experience rainfall accompanied by strong winds and lightning. The department cautioned that isolated hailstorms may occur during the spell.
Citizens have been urged to adopt precautionary measures amid the unstable weather conditions and remain updated through PMD alerts. The advisory stressed that the public should avoid unnecessary travel and secure outdoor belongings to minimize risks from sudden gusts and downpours.
