Senior government sources have clarified that the planned talks between the United States and Iran are not set to take place in Islamabad on Monday.
According to officials, no date has yet been finalised for the next round of negotiations between Washington and Tehran.
Meanwhile, Iranian news agency Tasnim News Agency has reported that Iran is not yet willing to agree to the next phase of talks with the United States.
The report said the decision is linked to recent statements by Donald Trump, including the announcement of a naval blockade against Iran, as well as what Tehran describes as excessive US demands that have continued during recent exchanges.
According to the agency, Iran has made it clear that refraining from such demands is a key condition for continuing dialogue.
It warned that without this, Tehran is not willing to engage in prolonged or unproductive negotiations. Iran’s position, it added, has been conveyed to US officials through Pakistan.
