Bullish trend continued at the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on Thursday as the benchmark KSE 100 index gained nearly 1,400 points.
At close, the benchmark index settled at 169,911.95 points, an increase of 1,392.01 points or 0.83%.
Index-heavy sectors, including automobiles, cement, food and personal care, and insurance, ended the session in positive territory.
On Wednesday, the benchmark KSE-100 Index surged by 2,885.10 points, or 1.74%, to close at 168,519.94 points.
Moreover, the State Bank of Pakistan announced on Thursday that it had received $2 billion from the Ministry of Finance of Saudi Arabia.
Meanwhile, oil prices were largely steady on Thursday, recovering from earlier losses amid doubts that ongoing discussions between the United States and Iran would result in a deal to ease tensions affecting oil supply from the Middle East.
Brent crude futures slipped 26 cents to $94.67 per barrel at 0611 GMT, while West Texas Intermediate crude futures edged up 14 cents to $91.43 per barrel.
