Authorities have reportedly taken a social media activist into custody for filming the movement of incarcerated Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan as he was being transported between a hospital and prison.
Haider Saeed was detained on Tuesday in the Dahgal Naka area near Adiala Jail and subsequently shifted to the Adiala Police Post for questioning, The News reported citing sources.
The action followed an incident on Monday night when the former prime minister was moved from the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) to Adiala Jail after undergoing a medical check-up.
Reports said Saeed allegedly recorded footage of the official convoy outside the hospital, prompting security personnel to intervene.
Earlier, the former PM was moved from jail to a government hospital in Islamabad for eye treatment under tight security, prompting his party and family to raise concerns over what they described as a midnight operation shrouded in secrecy.
