Following a week of social media debate, superstar Fahad Mustafa has officially buried the hatchet with veteran actress Atiqa Odho, issuing a public apology during a live broadcast of his hit show, Jeeto Pakistan.
The controversy began after Odho, 58, suggested on a talk show that the 42-year-old actor should pivot to roles alongside actresses closer to his own age. Mustafa’s initial retort, suggesting Odho would need “two or four more good surgeries” to play a heroine opposite him, was met with significant backlash from fans and industry peers alike.
“Apkay Samnay Hum Pani Bhartay Hain”
Moving to de-escalate the tension on Tuesday evening, Mustafa took a humble stance, acknowledging Odho’s stature in the industry.
“What is a relationship if it’s only governed by ego?” Mustafa stated during the episode. “The beauty lies in an apology. Atiqa Apa, you are our senior, and we love you dearly. You are undoubtedly Pakistan’s most beautiful woman. In front of you, we are nothing.”
The Main Abdul Qadir Hoon star concluded his message with a direct “I love you” and “I apologise,” effectively ending the back-and-forth.
Odho Calls for Peace
Prior to Mustafa’s televised apology, Atiqa Odho had already signaled her desire to move on, urging the public not to “blow the issue out of proportion.”
She defended Mustafa as a talented professional, lamenting how light-hearted banter between public figures is often scrutinized and “attacked” by the digital masses.
