ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Interior Brigadier retired Ijaz Ahmad Shah met with Chinese Ambassador Yao Jing at the Ministry of Interior and discussed a range of issues.
The interior minister said achieving regional peace is significant for global harmony and the government is are playing its role to achieve this objective.
The Chinese envoy appreciated the government’s stance on current international matters and said that Pakistan’s role in achieving regional peace is irreplaceable.
The envoy said that Chinese interior minister will visit Pakistan soon. He thanked the Ministry of Interior for its cooperation and assistance extended during the arrangements.
He said the interior minister of China visited Pakistan in 2014. He hoped that this visit will play a great role in strengthening ties between the two countries which have grown stronger over the years.
Ijaz Shah said that Pak-China friendship has been through thick and thin and there is no external threat to this bond. While discussing progress on the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), the interior minister said that all projects will be successfully completed at their designated time and the government will ensure cooperation on all levels.
The Chinese ambassador invited the federal interior minister to visit China and said that it will have a great impact on bilateral relations.
During the upcoming visit of Chinese interior minister, several Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) and agreements of mutual benefits will be signed between the two countries.
