Three people were killed after unidentified gunmen opened fire on a group of picnic-goers in Khuzdar district of Balochistan, police said on Sunday.
Following the incident, the victims’ families staged a protest by blocking the highway linking Quetta and Karachi.
According to details, armed assailants targeted residents of Wadh near Haranbo Dam, where the victims had gone for a picnic.
Police said the victims were unarmed at the time of the attack.
Khuzdar police described the incident as a tragic act of violence and confirmed that investigations had been launched to determine the motive behind the shooting and to arrest those responsible.
Authorities assured that strict action would be taken against the attackers.
Meanwhile, relatives of the deceased, along with local residents, protested on the Quetta–Karachi highway, demanding the immediate arrest of the perpetrators and exemplary punishment.
