The Board of Directors of K-Electric has formally accepted the resignation of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Moonis Alvi.
The power utility has officially notified the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) regarding this development.
According to the notification, the election for the new CEO is scheduled to take place on February 10. This follows the resignation tendered by Syed Moonis Abdullah Alvi yesterday.
Sources indicate that Mr. Alvi had been under significant mental pressure for several months due to harassment allegations leveled against him by a former female employee of K-Electric.
Ultimately, he presented his resignation to the Chairman of the Board.
Moonis Alvi first joined K-Electric in 2008. Over his long tenure, he served in several key roles, including Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Company Secretary, and Head of Treasury.
He was eventually appointed as the Chief Executive Officer in 2018.
