Australia has announced the opening of Australia Awards Scholarships for Pakistani students for master’s degree programs commencing in 2027, offering fully funded study opportunities at Australian universities.
The scholarships are part of Australia’s international development assistance to Pakistan and aim to support education, leadership development and long-term cooperation between the two countries. The program focuses on equipping emerging leaders with skills and knowledge to address key development challenges in Pakistan.
Priority fields of study for Pakistani applicants include climate change, empowerment of women and girls, agriculture and water security, infrastructure, and inclusive economic development.
Benefits
The scholarships cover full tuition fees, return air travel, a living allowance, health insurance, an establishment grant, and additional academic and fieldwork support where required.

Eligibility Criteria
- Eligibility criteria include Pakistani citizenship, residence in Pakistan, completion of 16 years of education.
- At least five years of relevant work experience, and being under 45 years of age at the time of application.
- Applicants must also submit a Development Impact and Linkages Plan and commit to returning to Pakistan for at least two years after completing their studies.
- Applications from women, people with disabilities and marginalized groups are strongly encouraged.
- Only master’s level programs are offered, and candidates who already hold an equivalent qualification are not eligible.
- Applications will open on 1 February 2026 and close on 30 April 2026. All applications must be submitted online through the OASIS system. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.
- Applicants have been advised that while AI tools may be used for basic spelling or grammar checks, they must not be used to write or paraphrase application responses, as misuse could lead to disqualification.
