Pakistan’s Muhammad Farooq Nadeem won the gold in the men’s individual trap event, setting new world record with a score of 27 out of 30 targets at the Asian Shotgun Championship. Kazakhstan’s Maxim Beidarov took silver with 26, while Kuwait’s al-Faihan claimed bronze with 20.
Farrukh finished seventh in the qualification round before going on to secure a podium finish. The medal marks Pakistan’s first, and so far only, success at the championship.
In the women’s individual trap event, Chinese Taipei’s Wan-Yu Liu claimed the gold medal after hitting 24 of 30 targets, a performance that set new Asian and world records. Kazakhstan’s Ibragimova Ilyinova took silver with a score of 23, while China’s Shen-Yu Fan earned the bronze after registering 17 hits.

Kazakhstan also dominated the women’s team trap competition, capturing gold with a total score of 235 points across five rounds. Chinese Taipei finished second to secure the silver medal with 316 points, while Kuwait claimed bronze with 315 points.
At the closing ceremony, medals were presented by Mohammed bin Yousef Al-Mana, First Vice President of the Qatar Olympic Committee; H.E. Roshan Starakhan Azard, Ambassador of Sri Lanka; Jassim Shaheen Al-Sulaiti, Secretary General of the Qatar Shooting and Archery Federation; and Obaid Manahi Al-Osaimi, Secretary General of the Kuwaiti and Arab Shooting Federations.
