The Pakistani rupee (PKR) displayed a mixed performance against major foreign currencies on Thursday, according to the latest interbank and open market exchange rates released by Forex.pk.
Interbank Market
In the interbank market, the US dollar was quoted at Rs279.95 for buying and Rs280.45 for selling, reflecting relative stability in the local currency. The UK pound sterling stood at Rs378.28 (buying) and Rs378.95 (selling), while the euro traded at Rs327.60 for buying and Rs328.18 for selling.

Among Gulf currencies, the Saudi riyal was recorded at Rs74.65–74.78, and the UAE dirham at Rs76.25–76.39. The Swiss franc remained one of the strongest currencies, trading at Rs352.31 (buying) and Rs352.94 (selling).
Open Market
In the open market, the US dollar was traded higher at Rs280.75 for buying and Rs282.80 for selling. The UK pound was quoted at Rs379 (buying) and Rs383 (selling), while the euro saw a noticeable premium, trading at Rs327.75–331.50.

The Saudi riyal was available at Rs74.85 (buying) and Rs75.50 (selling), and the UAE dirham at Rs76.55–77.55. The Kuwaiti dinar, one of the highest-valued currencies, was quoted at Rs908 (buying) and Rs918 (selling).
Currency dealers said the rupee remained largely range-bound amid steady demand for dollars and cautious sentiment in the foreign exchange market. They added that upcoming economic indicators, import payments, and external inflows will play a key role in determining the rupee’s direction in the coming days.
