The Punjab government has announced a performance-based allowance for school teachers across the province to reward excellence and motivate improved teaching standards.
Under the new initiative, teachers in primary, elementary, high, and higher secondary schools will be eligible for the allowance, which is aimed at recognizing strong performance in the classroom.
According to the Punjab Education Department, the program is expected to enhance teacher motivation and, in turn, positively impact student academic outcomes.
The allowance will vary based on the level of teaching and performance, ranging from Rs5,000 to Rs12,500.
Primary school teachers demonstrating good performance will receive Rs5,000, elementary school teachers Rs7,500, and high school teachers Rs10,000. Teachers at the higher secondary level will receive the highest allowance of Rs12,500.
Officials stressed that the initiative is designed to encourage high teaching standards and reward teachers who consistently deliver outstanding results.
