The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) snapped the losing streak on Thursday with the benchmark KSE-100 gaining nearly 1,200 points during the early trade.
At 11:25am, the benchmark index was trading at 171,497.92, up 1184.07 points or 0.7%.
Buying momentum emerged across major sectors such as cement, commercial banks, oil and gas exploration, OMCs, power generation and refineries. Several index‑heavy counters, including ARL, HUBCO, PSO, SNGPL, SSGC, MARI, MEB, MEBL and NBP, traded in positive territory.
Meanwhile, the Pakistani rupee posted mild gains against the US dollar, appreciating 0.06% in early inter‑bank trading on Thursday.
By 10am, the currency stood at 280.10, reflecting an improvement of Rs0.17 against the dollar.
