KARACHI: The Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology (Fuuast) conducted an entry test for admissions in academic session 2020 at its Gulshan-Iqbal campus.
More than 4000 students had applied for admission in bachelor’s admission in Pharmacy, Pre- Medical and General Science, Pre-engineering, Computer Science, Diploma in Engineering, Commerce, and Arts.
The candidates had come from all parts of Sindh because FUUAST offers admissions on open merit basis. FUUAST’s acting VC Professor Dr Arif Zubair during his visit to center said the Federal Urdu University was setting a world record as around 4000 candidates had turned up for the test.
He described the university’s admission policy as straight forward with merit-based while strictly observing would take by the FUUAST examination officials in the selection.
He said the University has administered the admissions test under the supervision of prominent academics. The purpose of this admission test is to ensure merit, in which students who perform well in this test will be eligible for admission. He said admission will not be given on any kind of recommendation against merit.
Director Admissions Professor Dr Muhammad Zahid said more than 4,000 students from all over the country participated in this admission test. He said the first admission test in the history of the university has taken full care of transparency.
On this occasion, a vigilance team of relevant officers visited the center to inspect the arrangements of the test and expressed satisfaction to this effect.
Strict security steps, guidance, water, and other arrangements were ensured by the university administration on this occasion.
The candidates were allowed entry to the examination centers, upon careful verification of admits cards and other relevant documents after thorough body-frisk by male and female security personnel.
