A shameful incident of sexual harassment has taken place with Australian cricketers present in India for the ICC Women’s World Cup.
According to Indian media reports, two Australian women cricketers had left the hotel in the Indian city of Indore to go to the cafeteria, during which a man riding a motorcycle touched one of the Australian cricketers in a very indecent way and fled.
According to reports, the incident took place on October 23.
Confirming the incident to the media, Additional DCP Crime Branch Rajesh Dandotia said that the security officer of the Australian women’s cricket team had filed a complaint about the incident.
Rajesh Dandotia added that the alleged accused has been arrested and a case has been registered. The accused’s name is Aqeel, and he is a resident of Azad Nagar.
He further said that a heavy contingent of police was deployed for security, and they are reviewing where the shortcomings were.
