The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued the moon sighting calendar for 2026, media reported on Saturday.
The calendar predicts the start date of the Islamic months of the entire year, including details of moon birth, sunset and sighting times.
According to PMD, the Shaban moon is likely to be sighted on January 21, and the Ramadan moon on February 18, 2026, while the Shawwal moon is expected to be sighted on March 19, and the Dhul-Qa’d moon on April 18, 2026.
Similarly, the Dhul-Hijjah moon is likely to be sighted on May 17, the Muharram moon on June 15, 2026, the Safar moon on July 15, and the Rabi’ al-Awwal moon on August 13, 2026.
The moon of Rabi’ al-Thani is likely to be sighted on September 12, the moon of Jamadi al-Awwal on October 12, the moon of Jamadi al-Thani on November 10, and the moon of Rajab on December 10, 2026. This calendar has been released by the Climate Data Processing Center of the Meteorological Department.
