Punjab Information Minister Azma Zahid Bukhari has said that the accounts of hundreds of individuals funding the religious and political party Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) have been frozen, and now terrorism cases will be registered against them.
According to details, while addressing a news conference in Lahore today, Provincial Information Minister Azma Bukhari said that there were talks about “rivers of blood” being shed in Muridke, and stories of thousands of deaths were being fabricated.
During the news conference, Azma Bukhari said that three deaths occurred in the Muridke incident, while 48 citizens and 110 police officials were injured. Among the injured officers, 18 were hit by bullets. The government has traced 3,800 national and international individuals financing TLP, among whom are prominent, educated, and well-mannered people.
Azma Bukhari said that gold, silver, branded watches, bangles, necklaces, rings, and other valuable items were recovered from the house of TLP chief Saad Rizvi. According to her, millions of rupees were collected in donations in the name of Islam.
The provincial minister clarified that there is no intention to relocate the grave of Khadim Hussain Rizvi; however, no one will be allowed to collect donations in the name of the grave. She stated that the government has taken control of 130 mosques under TLP’s administration, but no mosque has been demolished.
