In a gut-wrenching incident, parents in Karachi’s Chakra Goth reportedly threw their newborn baby girl out of a window, resulting in the infant’s death, an act allegedly driven by anger over not having a baby boy.
According to the police, local residents informed them about the parents throwing the baby from the third floor who died on the spot.
The police arrived at the scene, arrested the suspects, and shifted them to the police station. Further investigations into the incident are ongoing.
In a similar incident in 2023, a woman in Karachi’s Liaquatabad area threw a newborn baby from a multi-storey building, resulting in the infant’s death.
Police reported that the newborn girl’s body was discovered outside the apartment complex. During the investigation, the woman was taken into custody for questioning after neighbors alerted authorities that she was the baby’s mother.
The woman, identified as Sana, was described by police as mentally unstable and struggling with addiction.
