The UAE has introduced a new category for the Golden Visa that will be dedicated to honoring individuals who have performed humanitarian, charitable, and social services.
The move is part of the emirate’s broader strategy to promote social responsibility and encourage citizens and expatriates who contribute to social development.
According to the official announcement, individuals who donate endowments (waqf) for charitable purposes will now be eligible for the Golden Visa.
The program was launched in collaboration with the General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs and the Endowments and Awqaf Foundation (Awqaf Dubai).
Under the project, Awqaf Dubai will identify eligible donors who meet the conditions specified in Cabinet Resolution No. (65) of 2022. After reviewing and approving these applications, they will be issued long-term residence visas
Officials from both institutions said that the initiative was a manifestation of the UAE’s vision to further strengthen its identity as a global hub for humanitarian service and charity.
Furthermore, the government is recognizing the services of individuals who are contributing to the betterment of society through sustainable and purposeful projects.
For this purpose, a joint committee will be formed to review the effective implementation of this program, monitor its social impact, and evaluate its long-term effectiveness.
Through this new initiative, the UAE has further highlighted the values of generosity, sustainability and social development and opened the door to the Golden Visa for individuals who make lasting contributions to the well-being of humanity.
