The proposal for a change has come after analyzing the overall performance of the team under the leadership of Mohammad Rizwan.
Shaheen Afridi, who is known for his aggressive strategy and mentoring young players, has emerged as the strongest candidate for this position.
He had demonstrated his leadership skills while leading Pakistan’s T20 team in the past, which was praised by both fans and cricket experts.
According to sources, the Pakistan Cricket Board’s National Selection Committee will announce the ODI and T20 squads for the series against South Africa next week.
Babar Azam will once again lead the batting line-up in this series, while fast bowler Naseem Shah is also fully fit and returning to the team.
